Celebrating this Newest Year at the Round Table Event later today. We are full of reluctance to go. The government has ordered it, and we are given no choice. We are to talk about individuality today at the Event. That is what it always is. How we will show it in the Newest Year. We gather with other members of society, and the Worker tells us about how our hearts can be filled in this Newest Year, and how we can express our seperateness. One worker is assigned to one table every year. Last year we got 'Alexis'. I still remember her face. She was tired. She tried to make us happy with what she was saying, but she was not happy about it. She tried to make us believe her. It is hard to be happy when she does not feel happy for what she is talking about. I hope we do not get her this year.
It is so difficult writing so formal like I am here now. But, I do want to preserve some semblance of the beautiful English my parents spoke when they were young. If I talk like how I write here, but talk it in the General public, the government will Know, and we will be found out. They will call us Rebels. I think we are, but we do not let them Know.
All about me, the teenagers are clicking away with their Gadgets in the whole day. It feels like the electric is in the air. The electric is everywhere. My Mom showed me a old gadget of hers that she saved when the government shut off the freemarket gadgets. It has a apple in the side of it, and Dad told me it was made by a huge company called Mack. I wish we still were having Macks made to get. They look cool. They feel nice to hold.
Dad uses old words. Only at home when he knows the Workers can not look at him and here him. The Workers can here us in the whole day, but at night. Then they look at the bright part of the globe and see and here the awake people over there. So, I look up words in a dictionary when I can find a dictionary but wait until darkness. I want to own one. My friend Pierce does. He has to keep it from the government, so they will not know. They do not like the members of Society to know about the old ways. Pierce sneaks the word book to me sometimes. I want him to soon. That is how I got this book I am writing in. It has no words in it, so I can do my own.
I learned a new word from Dad today. It is omnivore. It means you eat greens , but you eat animals too. Together. It sounds fun.
Writing my name to stop this entry now.
