On His Plan For Your Mate
Everyone longs to give themselves completely to someone, to have a deep soul relationship with another, to be loved thoroughly and exclusively.
But God says to a Christian, "No, not until you are satisfied and fulfilled and content with living, loved by me alone, with giving yourself totally and unreservedly to me alone. I love you, my child, and until you discover that only in me is your satisfaction to be found, you will not be capable of the perfect human relationship that I have planned for you. You will never be united with another until you are united with me, exclusive of anyone or anything else, exclusive of any other desires or longings.
"I want you to stop planning, stop wishing, and allow me to give you that most thrilling plan existing, one that you can't imagine. I want you to have the BEST! Please allow me to bring it to you. You just keep watching me, expecting that satisfaction, expecting the greatest things, and know that I Am. Keep learning and listening to the things I tell you. You must wait!
"Don't be anxious. Don't worry. Don't look around at the things others have received. Don't look at the things you think you want. You just keep looking off and away up to me, or you'll miss what I want to show you.
"And then, when you're ready, I'll surprise you with a love far more wonderful than you would ever imagine. You see, until you are ready and until the one I have for you is ready (I am working this very minute to have both of you ready at the same time), until you are both satisfied exclusively with me and the life I have planned and prepared for you, you won't be able to experience the love that exemplifies your relationship with me...and this is perfect love.
"Dear one, I want you to have this most wonderful love. I want you to see in the flesh a picture of your relationship with me and to enjoy materially and concretely the everlasting union of beauty and perfection and love that I offer you with myself. Know that I love you utterly, I am God Almighty. Believe and be satisfied."

I think about courtship and marriage. A lot. That can be a good thing, and a bad things, sometimes at the same time! But, I like something that the above poem points out.
Just think, the reason that you are not courting yet, could be that the one God has for you is not quite ready yet! God may still be molding him to fit you! I like to think about this. If I were to push the issue, and try to force a relationship, which seems like the world's way of doing things, I could miss out on God's choice for me, all because I was too impatient to wait for God's best. That is why waiting, and staying pure, is so important!
I admit it is easy for me to think a lot about a certain guy, or to be attracted to guys, or to wonder if someone is the one for me. Even though it is hard to guard our hearts, I think it is a battle worth fighting.
Proverbs 4:23
"Watch over your heart with all diligence,
For from it flow the springs of life."
For from it flow the springs of life."
It is important to keep things in perspective too. Most guys aren't going to be the one for me, so I think it is better to view guys as 'he's not the one for me' rather than 'oh, maybe he is the one for me?!'. That way, even if a guy is the one for me, I wouldn't risk thinking that of someone who isn't. Of course, all this is fine and good, but a lot harder to do than say. And, I will admit, I do not always do it! Oftentimes, I do not think the way of the first view, but rather the second view. Not that I want to. That is why it is a struggle, a battle. One that I must fight, but need God's help to win.
For me, I think it is one of those battles where I get smaller victories now and then, but I will probably always be battling it, not ever winning until God gives me victory, or He comes again and perfects me.
However hard it is to wait though, there is only one man for me, and I am excited to see who it is God has planned for me! I can't wait till the day He shows me my man! In the meantime, I hope God helps me love Him most. And I would want that to continue even after I'm married. I want God to be first in my life, above the man that will be my husband.
Another thought- if I am not courting yet, it could be that God is still molding me to fit my man! Or maybe He is molding both of us (which I am sure He is!!!!). We young ladies can easily think the whole day about what we want in our man (at least I can), but we really should be thinking about how we should be for our man. What would a young man look for in a wife? Are we striving to be that woman? If we focus all on them, and not how we need to improve, then how can we expect anyone to want to marry us? Another way to ask it is: what sort of woman do we admire the most? And, if I were a young man, what sort of woman would I want for a wife? The guidelines to use in answering these questions can be found in the Bible.
I hope to someday be an older woman like what is described in Titus 2.
What better time to start toward that than now?

That is a wonderful post, Carrie. Thank you for reminding us to wait for who the Lord has for us.
Blessings~

Dear Carrie,
How true you are!
Someone once told me a great way to stay focused and pure/true is to pray for the future wives of our dear brothers in Christ..... Having that kind of a relationship (earnestly praying for their futures) will help us maintain an appropriate sister-like relationship with them.
You are right, staying content is the biblical way to go, not thinking of every male that we meet is "marriage material"....
Keep up the good work, we girls need to encourage each other in these things repeatedly!!!
Blessings dear!
That's very beautiful, Carrie. Thank you. :)
Jesus bless you!
AMEN TO THAT! WHAT A BEAUTIFUL POST.. LOVE YOUR BLOG LOOKING FOR TO VISIT MORE.. LOVES AND BLESSINGS FROM THE NETHERLANDS SORAYA AND HUUB
