All right, so you know how I keep saying I would put up pictures of my NaNoWriMo book (that is actually the first draft, but anyhow...)? Well, here they are!! =)
Last page, that says 'Proof'. heehee ;)
Back cover:
What do you think? If I actually get it published someday, after I edit it and everything, I don't know if I will actually use this cover. Maybe something similar to it. We'll see...As something pretty random in the midst of this post, yesterday, though it is spring, we got snow! Yes, huge snowflakes, that were so beautiful, and it was great! Before that, we had gotten grapple, which is like styrofoam-y, triangular, pieces of ice. It was interesting, and cool, literally! ;)
So, I got some new yarn a couple/few weeks ago at JoAnns, and I'm making yet another hot pad for my hopechest. I like the color of this yarn! It is so beautiful. If you didn't notice, the background for the picture below as well as the ones of my book all have the same background. I used a new sweaterish-type shawl for the background. ;) It was only $7 or so at the thrift store.
To make a hotpad like how I make mine, click here for instructions. (The link actually goes to my website, and if anyone is interested in my website, maybe I will try to put more things up on it... please let me know if you're interested! =)
And, last but not least, one of my favorite meals!! Cashew Turkey Pasta Salad. Actually, I made it this time without cashews, but it's still sooooo yummy. You should try it. ;)
Here is the link to the recipe: Cashew Turkey Pasta Salad Recipe I don't put the salt, and I don't grill my turkey. You can actually use just turkey sandwich meat, or if you cook a turkey whole, you can just cut it up. (There's probably a more specific term for it, like 'dice', or something. ;) Or you can use chicken, which the recipe does not say. But, we've had it with chicken and it's good too. Also, it's still really good when it's not 'chilled'. Probably over half the time, we eat it right after it is finished. =)
Also, we sometimes chop our cashews into dust practically because of mine and my mother's jaws (we have TMJ, which is where your jaw will pop and hurt, and nuts and things hard like that can make it worse). So, if you do it even with cashew dust, or no cashews at all, it is still really good!
Oh, and make sure you rinse the noodles in cold water, like it says in the recipe, otherwise the salad doesn't turn out as well.
One more thing. No really, only one more. ;) As you can see in the picture, I used egg noodles. You don't have to use the spiral. You can also use egg noodles, and it turns out great. I wouldn't recommend using much of the other ones though. Macaroni noodles would probably ruin it, but I've never tried it, and I don't really want to either. =) If you do, though, let me know how it turns out. ;)
Have a great weekend, everyone (yes, tomorrow is Friday already; time FLIES! =)
Psalm 144:3-4
"LORD, what is man, that You take knowledge of him?
Or the son of man, that You are mindful of him?
Man is like a breath;
His days are like a passing shadow."

5 notes:
Methinks that your book cover is pretty cool! The cabin on the front reminds me of Laura Ingalls Wilder...

Hi Carrie! :) So you were a finalist in NaNaWriMo? That's so cool! How many were there? I just finished final-editing my own book, and would love to get a copy of it like that. :) Beautiful job! What's you story about? Could you tell us the plot? :)

Rachel,
Thanks for commenting! There were 37,487 'winners'. =) My story is about a girl in CT during the Great Awakening. She gets saved after hearing Jonathan Edwards' sermon. I've done a couple posts about the characters, and you can see those here: http://awritingmaiden.blogspot.com/search/label/NaNoWriMo
My story needs to be worked on, so any plot description I could give now might be kinda boring. Though I suppose I could highlight the most interesting parts?? =) But, I might work on one and post it up sometime...
Thanks so much for the comment!! =)
